Are you in NYC? I’ll be giving a talk on capturing analytics to measure audience interactions with Flash and Ajax (and general non-pageload interactions) at tomorrow night’s Web Analytics De-Mystified Meetup! I went to the inaugural meetup for this group, and it was a very enthusiastic bunch of people from a wide range of professional backgrounds. This is my first opportunity to do this kind of thing, and I am very psyched! The talk will focus on using Google Analytics to flag interaction points and use the knowledge to better understand how RIA’s and other interactive site features are used and impacting goal conversions. I won’t get too techie, just the gist of how it works so you know what to ask your developer for and some ideas for how to use the technique (the how-to for getting the code in is available from Google).

If you’re interested in analytics and are free tomorrow at 7pm, come by!

Last year, a friend of mine got me involved with the Reaching Out MBA Conference (to my knowledge the largest, if not only, LGBT MBA conference going), to do their website. I did, and went to last year’s conference, and when they asked if I was interested, decided to stay on and do it again.

The past few weeks have been very busy on that front…so I wanted to point to the site and tell you a little about my work with them. This was another end-to-end site, though I did not write any content for this one. In addition to the design and content pages, we’ve gotten into some small application-type development, with tools for party RSVPs, an online facebook uploading and searching tool, and an administrative tool to collect panelist information online. These tools run on PHP and MySQL and incorporate both front and back-end validation processes.

Take a look!

I am very happy to announce that this weekend I completed the relaunch for the International Early Lung Cancer Action Program website. I’ve been doing updates for them for quite some time, and this spring we did a full redesign, redevelopment, and relaunch of their site. The new site includes lung cancer and lung cancer screening information, a zipcode-based screening site locator, and information about I-ELCAP studies, publications, and the organization itself.

This one was an end-to-end project…site design and architecture, graphics creation, features design, coding, content development and subcontractor management. Give it a look!

Just a quick note about the meetup I went to tonight. It was the “Web Analytics Demystified” group, and I definitely give it a thumbs up! If you aren’t familiar with meetups, they are the product of Meetup.com, a site that lets people create groups virtually, to meetup in real life. Groups are formed around just about any topic, or just to socialize, and occur pretty much anywhere all over the world.

If you are in NYC, and you have an interest in web analytics, definitely give it a look!

My apologies to those who find the interim color combinations offensive.
